Deep Water Harbour barrel clearing wait times right now — what time to reach?

Morning family! My sister shipped two barrels from Brooklyn via Tropical and the manifest arrived yesterday. Last year around this time I spent almost 6 hours in the heat between customs declaration, cashier, and the warehouse pickup bays.

Anyone cleared barrels this week? Is it better to reach at 7:30 AM before doors open or wait for the 1:30 PM afternoon crowd to thin out? Any updates on the computerized billing system?

Reach at 7:15 AM straight! Sit right under the shed by the entrance. If your bill of lading is already stamped by Tropical's main office on Newgate Street the day before, you can skip the shipping agent queue completely and walk straight inside to customs.

Seconding what Dee said. Also bring cash for the port handling fee and warehouse storage stamp. Sometimes the point-of-sale machine goes offline when everyone tries to pay by card at the same time.

Remember you are entitled to your standard customs personal allowance if you haven't claimed one in the last 6 months. Ensure you have the original packing invoice clearly marked with contents.
